J&K Govt Promotes Three Police Officers to SP Selection Grade (II)
SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved the promotion of three officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Service (JKPS) to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP) Selection Grade (II), according to a recent government order.

As per Government Order No. 525-Home of 2025, dated November 1, 2025, the promoted officers will now serve under Level 12 (₹78,800–₹2,09,200) of the Pay Matrix.
According to officials quoted by Kashmir News Channel (KNC), the promotions were finalized based on the recommendations made by the Selection Committee-I in its meeting held on July 3, 2025, and subsequent communications from CID, J&K.

The officers promoted to the SP Selection Grade include:
- Mohd Yousuf (JKPS: 2001) – Notionally promoted with effect from December 24, 2024, and regularly with immediate effect.
- Pardeep Singh (JKPS: 2008) – Promoted with immediate effect.
- Brijesh Kumar Sharma (JKPS: 2008) – Promoted with immediate effect.
These promotions were granted under the provisions of the J&K Police (Gazetted) Service Recruitment Rules, 2024, notified through SO 500 of 2024.

The government has clarified that the promotions will remain subject to the outcome of any writ petitions currently pending before competent courts across Jammu and Kashmir.
