MHA Promotes Five AGMUT IPS Officers to DGP Rank, Three Get Proforma Elevation

SRINAGAR: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has promoted five IPS officers of the AGMUT cadre to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP), including three who received proforma promotions while serving on Central deputation.

According to the MHA order, Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal and David Lalrinsanga have been elevated to the DGP rank in Level-16 of the pay matrix, effective from February 1, 2026, or from the date they assume charge, whichever is later.

The promotions were sanctioned by the competent authority following the recommendations of the Screening Committee meeting held on December 8, 2025.

Meanwhile, Satish Shriramaji Khandare, Rajesh Kumar, and Tsewang Namgyal Kalon have been granted proforma promotions to the DGP rank while on Central deputation.
