SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has placed an IPS officer under suspension pending an inquiry into the alleged misappropriation of General Provident (GP) funds and income tax deductions of police personnel, officials said.

The suspension order, issued by the Home Department, pertains to Sanjeev Kumar Khajuria, IPS, who was then serving as Commandant of the JKAP-4 Security Battalion and Commandant of 1 Border Battalion, Jammu. The order stated that he is suspended with immediate effect while the investigation is underway.
It further directed that during the suspension period, Khajuria will remain attached to the Police Headquarters, Jammu and Kashmir.
