J&K Higher Education Department Transfers College Principals Across UT
Srinagar, May 18: The Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department has ordered transfers and postings of several Principals and In-charge Principals across government degree colleges in the Union Territory.
According to Government Order No. 141-JK(HE) of 2026 dated May 18, 2026, the reshuffle has been carried out in the interest of administration with immediate effect.
Among the major transfers, Mr. Mohd Zubair has been posted as Principal of GDC Ghagwal, while Mr. Basharat Iqbal has been shifted from GDC Kishtwar to GDC Bhaderwah.
Mr. Farooq Ahmed has been transferred from GDC Nowshera to GDC Sidhra, and Mr. Sanjay Kumar has been posted as Principal of MAM College Jammu from GDC Udhampur.
Ms. Tasleema Bano has been transferred from GDC Magam to GDC Baramulla, while Ms. Gazala Gayas has been shifted from GDC Pampore to GDC Kokernag.
The order also states that Mr. Naveen Anand will take charge as Principal of GCW Parade Jammu after the retirement of the present Principal on June 1, 2026.
The Higher Education Department said the transfers and assignments will take effect immediately.
