Aijaz Ahmad Hakak Reinstated, Posted as Principal of Islamia College Srinagar
Srinagar, June 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has revoked the suspension of Aijaz Ahmad Hakak, former Principal of A.S. College Srinagar, after accepting the findings of an official inquiry conducted into the matter.
According to a government order, Hakak’s suspension has been withdrawn with immediate effect following the submission and examination of the inquiry report by the designated Inquiry Officer.
Hakak was placed under suspension and attached to the Higher Education Department through Government Order No. 130-JK(HE) of 2026 dated May 7, 2026.
The government had appointed Dr. Subash Chander, JKAS, Special Secretary in the Higher Education Department, as the Inquiry Officer. The inquiry report, along with recommendations, was submitted to the government on May 22, 2026.
After reviewing the report, the competent authority accepted the recommendations and approved Hakak’s reinstatement.
Following his reinstatement, Hakak has been posted as Principal of Islamia College of Science and Commerce, Srinagar.
In a related administrative reshuffle, Dr. Tehmina Yousuf, who was serving as Principal of Islamia College of Science and Commerce, has been transferred and posted as Principal of A.S. College, Srinagar.
The government has also assigned Dr. Yousuf the additional charge of Director, Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Srinagar, in addition to her existing duties.
The order further stated that the period of Hakak’s suspension will be decided separately by the government.
