The water level of Jhelum at Sangam is slowly rising and is still around 1.5 feet below the Flood Declaration Mark. The water is expected to rise gradually and reach between 20.5 ft. and 21.0 ft. during the next 6 – 7 hrs.

Jhelum at Pampore continues to flow above the Flood Declaration Mark. The water level is expected to cross the Danger Mark in the next 4 – 5 hrs.

Jhelum at Ram Munshi Bagh Srinagar is expected to reach the Flood Declaration Mark in the next 3 hrs. The water level is expected to reach between 19.5 ft. and 20.0 ft. during the next 10 – 12 hrs.

Tributaries of Jhelum are expected to show down trend in the coming hours.

Weather Forecast:

Currently rains have stopped over most parts of Jammu and Kashmir. The pause in weather activities is expected to continue during the next 5 hrs at least.

Clouds are once again expected to develop during the night in some parts of Jammu and Kashmir. A spell of rains can again occur in some areas towards late night and tomorrow. The place and area of impact can vary – hence separate forecasts for that will be issued.

There is no threat of any major flooding. People living near Pampore should keep a high vigilance as the water levels are expected to reach the Danger Mark during the night.
