IIT Jammu Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfill the prescribed educational qualifications and experience requirements as on 03 February 2026.
Public Relations Officer: Master’s degree in Mass Communication or Journalism with minimum 60% marks and 5 years relevant experience.
Assistant Registrar: Master’s degree in any discipline with 60% marks and 5 years administrative experience at Level 7 or Level 8.
Sports Officer: Master’s degree in Physical Education or Sports Science with 60% marks, 5 years experience and State or National level sports representation.
Fire and Safety Officer: Bachelor’s degree with 60% marks, Diploma in Fire and Safety and 5 years experience.
Senior Laboratory Officer: Master’s degree in Engineering or Science with 60% marks and 5 years experience or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 7 years experience.
Laboratory Officer: Master’s degree in Engineering or Science with 60% marks and 3 years experience or Bachelor’s degree with 5 to 6 years experience.
Junior Section Officer: Master’s degree with 60% marks and 3 years experience or Bachelor’s degree with 5 years experience in Administration, Accounts or Purchase.
Assistant Sports Officer: Bachelor of Physical Education with 60% marks and 3 years experience with sports specialization.
Laboratory Assistant: Master’s degree with 1 year experience or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science with 2 to 3 years experience or Diploma in Engineering with 3 years experience.
Senior Assistant: Master’s degree with 1 year experience or Bachelor’s degree with 3 years experience in Administration, Accounts or Audit.

Maximum 45 Years: Public Relations Officer, Assistant Registrar, Sports Officer
Maximum 40 Years: Fire and Safety Officer, Senior Laboratory Officer
Maximum 35 Years: Laboratory Officer, Junior Section Officer, Assistant Sports Officer
Maximum 33 Years: Laboratory Assistant, Senior Assistant
Age relaxation is applicable for SC, ST, OBC, PwD and other reserved categories as per Government of India rules.
IIT Jammu Salary Structure 2026
Pay Level 10 Group A: Basic Pay ₹56,100 to ₹1,77,500, Gross Salary approximately ₹95,000 per month.
Pay Level 8 Group B: Basic Pay ₹47,600 to ₹1,51,100, Gross Salary approximately ₹80,000 per month.
Pay Level 6 Group B: Basic Pay ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400, Gross Salary approximately ₹60,000 per month.
Pay Level 5 Group C: Basic Pay ₹29,200 to ₹92,300, Gross Salary approximately ₹50,000 per month.
IIT Jammu Selection Process 2026
For Group A posts, selection will be based on application screening, written or proficiency test and personal interview. Outstation candidates called for interview will be reimbursed 2nd AC railway fare.
For Group B and Group C posts, selection will be based on a written test of qualifying nature followed by a skill, computer or trade test. No interview will be conducted. Sleeper class railway fare will be reimbursed to eligible candidates.
