Jammu & Kashmir Police Orders Major Transfer Shuffle in District Jammu
Over a dozen officers reassigned as part of routine administrative reshuffle
JAMMU, August 1, 2026 – The District Police Headquarters Jammu has issued transfer orders affecting 18 police officers across various ranks, from Inspectors to Assistant Sub-Inspectors, in a significant administrative reshuffle announced today.
The order, numbered 1016 of 2026 and issued by the office of the Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu, comes into effect immediately, with all transferred officers directed to be relieved forthwith.
Key Transfers at Inspector Level
The most notable changes occur at the Inspector rank, with several high-profile postings being rearranged:
· Inspector Jai Paul Sharma moves from Police Station Gandhi Nagar to take charge as SHO at Police Station Bahu Fort.
· Inspector Raghubir Singh transitions from DPL (in charge of CRT/ESU Lab) to become SHO at Police Station Gandhi Nagar.
· Inspector Shariq Majeed has been posted as SHO at Police Station Janipur, moving from DPL Jammu.
· Inspector Vikram Sharma shifts from P/S Janipur to serve as Reader at DPO Jammu.
· Inspector Arun Koul takes over as SHO at P/S Bakshi Nagar, relocating from DPO Jammu.
· Inspector Rakesh Kumar moves from SP Southridge to P/S Bagh-e-Bahu as SHO.
· Inspector Rattan Singh and Inspector Balram Sharma, both previously at DPL Lakhro, have been assigned to P/S Peer Mitha and P/S Kanachak respectively as SHOs.
· Inspector Naresh Sharma takes charge at DPL (I/C CRT/ESU Lab), moving from DPL Jammu.
· Inspector Sushil Choudhary transfers from P/S Bahu Fort to P/S Akhnoor as SHO.

· SI Sunil Kumar moves from PP Sarwal to P/S Bishnah as Investigating Officer.
· PSI Lalit Sharma transitions from P/S Bahu Fort to take charge at PP Sarwal.
· PSI Sohan Singh shifts from P/S Bishnah to PP Phallian Mandal as Incharge.
· PSI Naresh Kumar moves from PP Phallian Mandal to P/S Bahu Fort as IO.
· PSI Kunal Sharma and PSI Ankush Sharma exchange postings between P/S Gandhi Nagar and P/S Khour.
· ASI Mohd. Aslam transfers from DPL Jammu to PP Gujjar Nagar.
· ASI Ved Raj moves from PP Gujjar Nagar to P/S Gharota.
Administrative Context
The transfers were approved by the Police Establishment Board of District Jammu and are part of the routine administrative process aimed at optimizing police deployment across the district. The order has been circulated to all concerned authorities including the Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, and the Deputy Inspector General of Police, J-S-K Range, for information.
The affected officers have been directed to assume their new responsibilities immediately upon relief from their current postings.
