The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) witnessed disruptions on December 15-16, 2024, due to vehicle breakdowns, single-lane stretches, and poor road conditions in several key areas. Commuters and operators are advised to follow the latest advisory issued by Traffic Police Headquarters.

Traffic Plan & Advisory for December 17, 2024
Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44):
- LMVs (Passenger/Private Cars) and HMVs will be allowed from both sides: Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa.
- Traffic Control Units (TCU) in Jammu and Srinagar will coordinate with TCU Ramban for updates on road conditions.
Security Forces Convoy Movement:
- SFs vehicles will be allowed from both sides on NH-44, subject to fair weather and road conditions.
Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag NH-244
- Vehicular movement for LMVs only will be permitted from both sides:
- From Anantnag to Kishtwar and vice versa.
- Timing: 1100 hrs to 1400 hrs.
- Vehicles will not be allowed beyond the cutoff timing.
SSG Road (Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari Road)
- One-way traffic (LMVs followed by HMVs up to 06 tyres) will be allowed:
- Direction: Srinagar towards Kargil.
- Timing: 1000 hrs to 1500 hrs.
- Motorists must carry anti-skid chains for safer movement on slippery roads.
- SF Convoy Movement: Security Forces must plan their travel to avoid disturbing civilian traffic.
Mughal Road
- LMVs will be allowed from both sides:
- From Poonch to Shopian and vice versa.
- Timing: 1100 hrs to 1500 hrs.
- No vehicle will be permitted after the cutoff timing.
Bhaderwah-Chamba Road
- The Bhaderwah-Chamba road is open for vehicular movement.
