  1. Slow Movement Observed:
    • Traffic disruptions due to the breakdown of two HMVs.
    • Single-lane stretches noted at Dalwas, Mehad, and between Marog & Kishtwari Pather.
  2. Advisory for Passengers/LMV Operators:
    • Travelers are advised to undertake journeys during daylight hours.
    • Risk of shooting stones is high between Ramban and Banihal.
  3. Guidelines for Goods Carrier Operators:
    • Load vehicles as per advisories due to poor road conditions and single-lane traffic.
    • Avoid overloading and ensure sufficient fuel for the journey.
    • Double-check vehicle fitness before traveling.
  4. HMV Movement Restrictions:
    • Only HMVs with 06 and 10 tyres are permitted through Dhar Road.

Traffic Plan & Advisory for December 17, 2024

Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44):

  • LMVs (Passenger/Private Cars) and HMVs will be allowed from both sides: Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa.
  • Traffic Control Units (TCU) in Jammu and Srinagar will coordinate with TCU Ramban for updates on road conditions.

Security Forces Convoy Movement:

  • SFs vehicles will be allowed from both sides on NH-44, subject to fair weather and road conditions.

Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag NH-244

  • Vehicular movement for LMVs only will be permitted from both sides:
    • From Anantnag to Kishtwar and vice versa.
    • Timing: 1100 hrs to 1400 hrs.
  • Vehicles will not be allowed beyond the cutoff timing.

SSG Road (Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari Road)

  • One-way traffic (LMVs followed by HMVs up to 06 tyres) will be allowed:
    • Direction: Srinagar towards Kargil.
    • Timing: 1000 hrs to 1500 hrs.
  • Motorists must carry anti-skid chains for safer movement on slippery roads.
  • SF Convoy Movement: Security Forces must plan their travel to avoid disturbing civilian traffic.

Mughal Road

  • LMVs will be allowed from both sides:
    • From Poonch to Shopian and vice versa.
    • Timing: 1100 hrs to 1500 hrs.
  • No vehicle will be permitted after the cutoff timing.

Bhaderwah-Chamba Road

  • The Bhaderwah-Chamba road is open for vehicular movement.
