The order impacts seven IPS officers, with several high-profile postings in sensitive districts and central roles:
· New Commandant General: Mr. Abdul Ghani Mir (IPS:1994), who was awaiting orders, has been appointed as the Commandant General for Home Guards, Civil Defence, and SDRF. He relieves Mr. Alok Kumar of the additional charge of this vital disaster response and civil defence role.
· Leadership in South Kashmir: The strategic South Kashmir districts of Pulwama and Kulgam see new commanders. Ms. Tanushree (IPS:2017) moves from SP SIA HQ to SSP Pulwama, while Mr. Sahil Sarangal (IPS:2017) transitions from SSP Kulgam to SSP Handwara.
· Kathua Gets New SSP: Ms. Mohita Sharma (IPS:2017) has been appointed as the SSP Kathua. She takes over from Mr. Shobhit Saxena, who has been posted as SSP Security, J&K.
