The promotion was formally approved under Government Order No. 510-Home of 2025, issued by the Home Department on Thursday. The order, signed by Mr. Chandraker Bharti, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government, grants the promotion with immediate effect.
Key Details of the Promotion Order
Mr. Raina, who was serving as a Deputy Director, has been elevated to the prestigious position of Joint Director based on the recommendations of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC).
With this promotion, Mr. Raina will be placed in Pay Level 12 of the 7th Central Pay Commission structure, which corresponds to a salary scale of ₹78,800 – ₹209,200.
The government order explicitly states that the promotion is “prospective,” meaning it is effective from the date of the order’s issue, and is contingent upon the “outcome of writ petition(s), if any, pending before competent court(s) of law.”
