J&K Govt Transfers 22 Doctors, Issues Posting Orders: SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Health and Medical Education Department on Tuesday ordered a major reshuffle in the health sector, transferring and posting 22 doctors across various districts and health institutions in the Union Territory with immediate effect.

According to Government Order No. 411-JK(HME) of 2026 dated May 12, the transfers have been issued in the interest of administration and patient care.

Under the order, Dr Sanjay Arora has been posted as In-charge State Malariologist, while Dr Rashmi Sharma has been appointed as In-charge Epidemiologist. Dr Sunil Kailu and Dr Bashir Ahmad Malik have been assigned as In-charge Assistant Directors for Family Welfare, MCH and Immunisation in the Jammu and Kashmir divisions respectively.

Dr Vinod Sharma has been posted as In-charge Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Doda, and Dr Sanjay Kumar Bhat has been given charge of CMO Kishtwar. Dr Bhajan Kour has been transferred as CMO Bandipora, while Dr Monika Kotwal has been appointed Medical Superintendent, Government Hospital Sarwal Jammu.

Several other postings have also been ordered. Dr Karam Veer Singh has been appointed Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Reasi; Dr Sushma Mattoo as Medical Superintendent Police Hospital Jammu; Dr Asif Ali Khanday as Medical Superintendent Kashmir Nursing Home; and Dr Zahida Akhtar Gul as Medical Superintendent Gousia Hospital Srinagar.

Among Block Medical Officer-level changes, Dr Samina Nazir has been posted at Akhnoor, Dr Rumina Majeed at Pattan, Dr Arshad Ali at Khansahib, Dr Mohammad Ayoub at Bijbehara, Dr Mohd Amin Mir at Kupwara, and Dr Malik Sajad at Beerwah. Dr Ghazala has been posted as Block Medical Officer Mendhar, with additional charge of DTO Poonch assigned to Dr Mohd Azam.

Further, Dr Sham Lal has been posted at Bishnah, while Dr Shahid Hussain has been appointed Health Officer, Jammu Municipal Corporation.

The government has stated that the assignments are temporary and subject to the outcome of any pending court proceedings. All officers have been directed to assume charge at their new postings immediately and stand relieved from their previous positions.(KASHMIR LIFE)
