J&K Police Grants Scholarship to Wards of Martyr SPOs for Academic Year 2024–25
Jammu, Feb 6: The Jammu and Kashmir Police Headquarters has issued an official order sanctioning the grant of scholarship to the wards of Martyr Special Police Officers (SPOs) for the academic year 2024–25.
As per the order issued by HQ J&K Police, Jammu, the scholarship has been approved out of the Police Pariwar Fund in favour of students whose parents laid down their lives in violence or militancy-related incidents in Jammu and Kashmir.

The order, issued under reference HQ Order No. 3511 of 2021 dated November 24, 2021, sanctions financial assistance to six wards of Martyr SPOs studying in different classes and courses across the Union Territory.
According to the order, the beneficiaries include students studying in Class X, Class XII, BA and MA courses, with the scholarship amount varying as per the prescribed scale.
A total amount of ₹72,500 (Rupees Seventy-Two Thousand Five Hundred only) has been sanctioned for distribution among the eligible wards.
The scholarship has been approved with the consent of the competent authority and the order has been digitally signed by the AIG (Welfare) for DG Police on February 6, 2026.
Concerned Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) in Srinagar, Doda, Baramulla and Rajouri districts have been directed to ensure disbursement of the sanctioned amount to the respective beneficiaries.
The order reaffirms the commitment of J&K Police towards the welfare and educational support of the families of fallen personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
