Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Pilot: Certificate of competency as Master of a Foreign-going ship issued by the Ministry of Shipping or an equivalent qualification.
- Safety Inspector:
- Degree in Physics or Chemistry, or a Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
- Diploma in Industrial Safety.
- Manager (Marine Engineering): MOT II Class Motor Certificate issued under the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958.
Experience Required
- Pilot: At least 1 year as Master/Chief Officer on a foreign-going ship.
- Safety Inspector: Minimum 5 years of experience in a port or industrial unit handling hazardous goods.
- Manager (Marine Engineering): 2 years of experience as an independent watch-keeping engineer on a foreign-going ship.
