KPDCL Announces Week-Long Power Shutdown in North & Central Kashmir from Jan 17

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a scheduled shutdown of the 480 MVA 220/132/33 kV Grid Sub-Station (GSS) Delina, which will affect electricity supply across large parts of north and central Kashmir.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the shutdown will be observed from January 17 to January 23, 2026, between 11 am and 1 pm daily.

During this period, power supply will remain suspended in areas including Panzipora, Tarzoo, Hygam, Shair Colony, Arampora, Mahrajpora, Bugoo, Hathlangoo, Warpora, Dooru, Shiva, Tujjar Sharief, Shrian, Nowpora, Mazbugh, Reban, Achabal, Doabgah, Ferozpora, Panzulla, Shutloo, Chakloo, Ladoora, Nadihal, Seer, Dangiwachi, Hachipora, Hadipora, Watrigam, Safalpora, Ganpora, Bomai, Rohama, Delina, Chandoosa, Sultanpora, Sangrama, Kreeri, Wagoora, Kalantra, Sopore town, Baramulla town, Kanlibagh, Gantamulla, Magam, Kunzer, Salambad, Uri, Boniyar, Sheeri, Drangbal, Baramulla district headquarters, Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla, and adjoining localities.

Electricity supply will also be affected in important installations and areas such as the DC Office Baramulla, Fruit Mandi, MES areas, railway installations, water supply schemes, lift irrigation stations, industrial units, and police establishments.

KPDCL said the shutdown is necessary for essential maintenance works and has advised consumers in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements during the outage period.
