SRINAGAR: The Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, has announced multiple planned shutdowns of 33 kV power lines in the Kashmir Valley, which will affect electricity supply to several areas in the coming days.

A shutdown of the 33 kV Habbak-Zakura line is scheduled on January 4, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, during which power supply to Danihama, Khimber, Teilbal, Burzhama, Shopperbagh, Rahbagh, Batpora, Zakura, Gulabagh, and adjoining localities will be interrupted.
The 33 kV Rawalpora-Bagh-i-Mehtab line will be taken offline on January 3 and 7, 2026 between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, affecting Bagh-i-Mehtab, Old Mochwa, Kralpora, New Mochwa, and surrounding areas.
The 33 kV Nowbugh-Nagam line will also be shut down on January 3, 6 and 10, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, causing power disruptions in Kakawring, Yousmarg, Charar-i-Sharief, Hayatpora, Nagam, Badipora, Hafroo, Loolipora, Watkaloo, Gogjipathri, and nearby areas.
Additionally, the 33 kV Nowbugh-Chadoora line will be out of service on the same dates and times, impacting Sogam, Repora, Dawlatpora, Panzan, Lalgam, Chadoora, Wathoora, Bugam, Gadsathoo, Kathairgund, and adjoining regions.
Authorities have urged residents and businesses in the affected areas to plan accordingly and cooperate during the scheduled maintenance to ensure uninterrupted power distribution in the long term.
