SRINAGAR, Oct 13: The National Conference (NC) has formally submitted the nomination papers of four candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir, scheduled for October 24, 2025, signaling the party’s determined push to retain its representation in the Upper House.
Senior party leaders Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, former minister; Sajjad Kichloo, former Minister of State; and Shammi Oberoi, NC Treasurer, were among the first to file their nominations on Monday. The fourth candidate, Imran Nabi Dar, completed the party’s slate later in the day, confirming to media that his papers had been submitted.
Election authorities will now scrutinize the nominations before issuing the final list of candidates eligible to contest. The Rajya Sabha polls in the Union Territory are being closely watched, as the results could influence legislative dynamics at both the regional and national levels.
With this full slate, the NC aims to consolidate its political strength in Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing its continued influence in shaping the region’s representation in Parliament.
