Planned Power Cut Schedule in Jammu, Ramban & Kathua

SRINAGAR: In an official announcement, the Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) has informed residents about a series of necessary, pre-planned power shutdowns. These temporary electricity cuts will affect several neighbourhoods across the districts of Jammu, Ramban, and Kathua.

The purpose of these shutdowns is to allow the company’s engineering teams to carry out important maintenance work and crucial upgrades to the electrical infrastructure. This essential work will help in preventing future faults and ensuring a more stable and reliable power supply for all consumers in the long term.

The JPDCL has released a detailed schedule, listing the specific areas, dates, and times when the electricity supply will be temporarily switched off. Residents and business owners in these locations are strongly advised to plan their daily activities accordingly.

Detailed Schedule of Power Cuts

Here is a complete, area-by-area breakdown of the planned power interruptions:

1. For Ramban District and Adjoining Areas:

  • Affected Locations: The power supply will be turned off in Ramban town, Chanderkote, Karole, Battery Chashma, Bernote, Sangaldan, Gool, and all other connected and nearby villages.
  • Dates and Timing: This shutdown will happen on two days: November 4th and 5th (Thursday and Friday). On both days, the power will be off from 8:00 in the morning until 11:00 in the morning.

2. For Jammu District (First Set of Areas):

  • Affected Locations: The areas of Chibba, Thanda Pani, Baymal, and their surrounding localities will experience a power cut.
  • Date and Timing: This will take place on November 4th (Thursday only). The electricity will be disconnected from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm in the afternoon.

3. For Jammu District (Second Set of Areas):

  • Affected Locations: Residents in Sarthal, Kuntwara, Trigam, and nearby villages will face a power outage.
  • Date and Timing: This is also scheduled for November 4th (Thursday only), but for a longer duration, from 9:00 am until 4:00 in the evening.

4. For Kathua District (First Set of Areas):

  • Affected Locations: The neighbourhoods including Kalibari, Azadpur, Housing Colony, and Upper Shivanagar will be affected.
  • Date and Timing: The power supply here will remain suspended on November 4th (Thursday) from 7:30 am to 11:30 am.

5. For Kathua District (Second Set of Areas):

  • Affected Locations: A wider set of locations will be impacted, including Changran, Chack Desa Singh, Manke Talab, Shiva Nagar, Durga Nagar, the Government Women’s Degree College, Ward No. 2, the District Jail, Super Bazaar, and all adjoining areas.
  • Dates and Timing: The power will be off in these areas on two separate days: November 4th and November 6th (Thursday and Saturday). On both days, the timing will be from 7:30 in the morning to 11:30 in the morning.
