POONCH, Oct 13: A tragic Poonch road accident on Monday claimed one life and left another person injured after a Tata Mobile vehicle lost control and crashed in the Dingla area of the district, officials said.
According to police sources, the accident involved a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK08F-7490, which reportedly skidded off the road due to high speed and overturned.
The deceased has been identified as Mohd Rafiq, son of Sattar Din, aged around 60 years, while the injured has been identified as Mohd Saif, son of Abdul Barhan.

Locals and police immediately reached the spot and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment. The body of the deceased was handed over to his family after completing medico-legal formalities.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the Poonch road accident.
Frequent accidents in the hilly areas of Poonch and Rajouri have raised safety concerns, with authorities urging drivers to exercise caution on narrow and slippery roads, especially during early morning and evening hours.
