Power Shutdown Announced in South Kashmir on December 14, Check Affected Areas and Timings

The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited has announced a scheduled power shutdown in parts of South Kashmir on December 14, 2025, affecting both residential and commercial consumers.

the shutdown has been planned to facilitate maintenance work on the 132 kV Mirbazar–Mattan transmission line.

Due to the maintenance activity, electricity supply will remain suspended from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM in several areas including Pahalgam, Achabal, Mattan, Gopalpora and adjoining localities.

Officials said the scheduled maintenance is part of KPDCL’s ongoing efforts to upgrade and strengthen the power transmission and distribution infrastructure to ensure a stable and reliable electricity supply across the region.

Consumers have been advised to take necessary precautions during the outage period. Industries, hospitals and other essential services have also been asked to make alternate power arrangements to avoid inconvenience.

KPDCL officials further stated that such planned shutdowns are essential to prevent unexpected power failures and to maintain overall grid stability. Residents of the affected areas have been advised to stay in touch with official KPDCL updates and local news platforms for any changes in the schedule.
