Three IPS Officers Shifted to Jammu & Kashmir Segment in Latest MHA Reshuffle
SRINAGAR, Oct 7: In a fresh administrative move, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has transferred three Indian Police Service (IPS) officers to the Jammu and Kashmir segment of the AGMUT cadre, reinforcing efforts to streamline policing and strengthen administrative coordination in the Union Territory.
According to official sources, the officers transferred from the Delhi segment include Sukant Shailja Ballabh, Krishan Kumar, and Kamal Pal Singh Malhotra. The trio will soon report to the J&K Police headquarters to receive their new assignments.
Officials said the latest reshuffle is part of the MHA’s ongoing exercise to ensure balanced cadre management and efficient deployment of senior police personnel across Union Territories under the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh–Goa–Mizoram and Union Territories) framework.
“The induction of new officers will further strengthen law enforcement and improve coordination among different police units operating in J&K,” an official familiar with the development said.
The MHA periodically conducts such transfers to optimize resource allocation, address vacancies, and enhance administrative effectiveness in strategically sensitive regions like Jammu and Kashmir.
The reshuffle also reflects the Centre’s continued focus on maintaining stability and improving governance structures through inter-cadre postings of experienced IPS officers.
