5 Booked in Fake NHM Selection List Scam in Kashmir: Crime Branch Cracks Down

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 4 – 5 Booked in Fake NHM Selection List Scam in Kashmirm.The Crime Branch Kashmir (Economic Offences Wing) has registered a formal case against five individuals for allegedly circulating a fake National Health Mission (NHM) selection list, exposing a well-planned scam that targeted job seekers in the valley.

Case Background:

  • Complaint Source: State Nodal Officer, NHM J&K
  • Fake Document: “Provisional Selection List of Candidates for Different Posts (Kashmir Division)”
  • Reference: Against Notification No. SHS/NHM/J&K/HR/10259 dated 10.05.2021
  • Circulation Method: Social media platforms

Investigation Findings:

  • NGO “J&K Health Care Services” was approved during COVID-19 for voluntary manpower
  • Management members exploited this approval in a planned conspiracy
  • Collected money and documents from volunteers promising permanent NHM jobs
  • Created fake selection list with forged signature of Mission Director, NHM J&K

Accused Persons Identified:

  1. Abdul Qayoom Naik (Tangmarg)
  2. Abdul Qayoom Khan (Budgam)
  3. Mohammad Ashraf Hurrah (Srinagar)
  4. Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi (Bandipora)
  5. Hilal Ahmad Bahar (Bandipora)

Legal Charges Filed:

  • Sections 420, 468, 471, 120-B RPC
  • Section 66-D of IT Act
  • Case registered at Police Station Economic Offences Wing
