NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Result to Be Declared by July 20, Confirms NTA

New Delhi, July 2: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has confirmed that the NEET UG 2026 re-examination results will be declared by July 20, even as it continues to review thousands of objections submitted against the provisional answer key.

A senior NTA official said the evaluation process is being carried out on a war footing to ensure the results are announced as early as possible.

“We are not announcing an exact date yet, but the result will be declared by July 20. Usually, results are released within 45 days of the examination. This time, since the exam process was completed in 37 days, the results will be announced much earlier,” the official told ANI.

The official also assured students that the revised examination schedule will not delay the start of the MBBS academic session.

The re-NEET UG 2026 examination was held on June 21, after the original exam conducted on May 3 was cancelled following allegations of a paper leak.

The NTA released the provisional answer key on June 25 and invited objections until June 28. Around 10,000 challenges were received, and officials said each objection is being examined individually before preparing the final answer key and results.

After the results are announced, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will release the counselling schedule for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, along with admissions to AIIMS, JIPMER, central universities and deemed universities. Counselling for the remaining 85% state quota seats will be conducted separately by the respective state authorities.

The counselling process will include online registration, choice filling, seat allotment, document verification and admission. Seats will be allotted based on NEET rank, category, reservation policy, candidate preferences and seat availability.

The admission process is expected to be conducted in multiple rounds, including Round 1, Round 2, Mop-up Round and Stray Vacancy Round, before the new academic session begins.

Meanwhile, some states, including Tamil Nadu, have already started preliminary admission preparations while awaiting the declaration of the NEET UG 2026 results.
