Bandipora Road Accident Claims Life of 19-Year-Old, Second Youth Injured

BANDIPORA, October 9, 2025 —Bandipora Road Accident A tragic road accident claimed the life of a 19-year-old youth and left another seriously injured on the Ashtangoo-Aloosa road in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday afternoon.

The incident occurred when a motorcycle carrying two young men met with an accident under circumstances that remain unclear. Local sources reported that the riders lost control of their vehicle along the winding stretch connecting Ashtangoo and Aloosa.

The deceased has been identified as Ubaid Manzoor Khan, son of Manzoor Ahmad Khan, from Aloosa Gath. His companion, 18-year-old Azad Gul, son of Ghulam Mohammad Matta from the same locality, sustained injuries in the crash.

Upon receiving information about the accident, local residents and police personnel quickly arrived at the scene. The injured youth was immediately transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment, while Ubaid was declared dead at the hospital.

A police official confirmed that authorities have registered a case and initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. “We are looking into all possible factors that may have led to this tragic incident,” the officer stated.

The sudden demise of the young Ubaid has plunged the Aloosa Gath community into mourning, with neighbors and relatives gathering at the family’s residence to offer condolences. Local residents have expressed concern over road safety in the area and called for improved safety measures along the stretch where the accident occurred.
