SRINAGAR, October 9, 2025 (GNS) — At least four individuals sustained injuries,Four Injured as Tractor Overturns in Jammu Kashmir’s Poonch one of them serious, when a tractor they were travelling in veered out of control and met with an accident in the Kasab area of Jammu Kashmir’s Poonch district on Thursday.
According to officials, the tractor suddenly lost control and overturned at Kasab. The incident prompted a swift response from local residents, who rushed to the scene and transported the injured to the Sub-district Hospital in Mendhar for initial medical care.
The injured have been identified as:
- Akhtiaz Ahmed (35), son of Nazir Hussain
- Touseef Ahmed (16), son of Basharat Hussain
- Danish Ahmed (16), son of Sakander Azam Gujjar
- Choudhary Haq Nawaz (35), son of Mohd Ashraf
All four are residents of the Kasab area.
Medical authorities at the Sub-district Hospital provided immediate treatment. Dr. Ashfaq Ahmad Chaudhary, the Block Medical Officer of Mendhar, confirmed that one of the injured, Akhtiaz Ahmad, sustained serious injuries requiring advanced care.
“Following initial stabilization, Akhtiaz Ahmad has been referred to the Government Medical College (GMC) in Rajouri for further specialized treatment,” Dr. Chaudhary stated. “The condition of the other three injured is currently stated to be stable.”
Local police have taken cognizance of the incident and have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
