DSEK Issues Appointment Orders for 19 JKSSB Teacher Candidates in Kashmir
Srinagar, July 21: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has issued temporary appointment orders for 19 candidates selected for the posts of General Teacher, Science-Math Teacher, and Urdu Teacher under JKSSB Advertisement Notification No. 06 of 2017.
The appointments have been made through Order No. 264-DSEK of 2026 dated July 20, 2026, after completion of the required verification process.
Background
The School Education Department had originally referred 2,154 teacher vacancies to the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB), including 1,864 posts for the Kashmir Division. These posts were advertised under Notification No. 06 of 2017 dated December 28, 2017.
While appointment orders were issued for most candidates, recommendations for several select and wait-listed candidates remained pending due to issues related to overlapping qualifications.

Wait List Revalidated
As the validity of the select and wait list was nearing expiry, DSEK sought approval from the Administrative Department to revalidate the wait list against vacancies created due to non-joining of selected candidates.
Following the review of a reconciled merit list submitted by JKSSB and recommendations of a committee, the Administrative Department approved the appointment of 57 candidates on June 16, 2026.
Category-wise Approved Candidates
- General Teacher: 35 candidates
- Science-Math Teacher: 16 candidates
- Urdu Teacher: 6 candidates
The selected candidates belong to the district cadres of Anantnag, Bandipora, Baramulla, Budgam, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Kupwara, Pulwama, Shopian, and Srinagar.
Appointment Orders for 19 Candidates
DSEK had directed all approved candidates to submit their testimonials, descriptive rolls, and Character & Antecedents forms.
Out of the 57 approved candidates, 36 submitted the required documents, and 19 candidates received satisfactory CID Character & Antecedents Reports.
Based on this verification, DSEK has now issued temporary appointment orders for these 19 candidates in the School Education Department.
Pay Scale
- Pay Level-05
- Salary: ₹29,200 – ₹92,300 per month
Joining Instructions
The appointed candidates must report to the office of their respective Chief Education Officer (CEO) within 21 days from the date of the appointment order.
Candidates are required to produce original documents, including:
- Academic qualification certificates
- Date of Birth certificate
- Domicile certificate
- Health certificate
- Character & Antecedents verification
- No-loan certificate under the Self Employment Scheme
- Undertaking regarding absence of criminal cases
Important Conditions
- Appointment will be cancelled if any certificate or document is found to be fake or forged.
- Salary will be released only after successful verification of all documents.
- Candidates failing to join within the prescribed period will forfeit their appointment.
- Appointees will remain on probation for two years, and seniority will be regulated under the applicable service rules.
