J&K Government Appoints Gurpal Singh Arora as Chairperson of Northern Region Technical Co-ordination Committee
SRINAGAR, October 16, 2025 – In a significant administrative move, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has appointed Mr. Gurpal Singh (G.P.) Arora, IAS, as the new Chairperson of the Technical Co-ordination Committee (TCC) for the Northern Region.
The appointment was formalized through Government Order No. 13-JK(PDD) of 2025, issued by the Power Development Department. Mr. Arora will serve on the committee in his capacity as the Managing Director of the Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL), representing the interests of the J&K Power Development Department.
The order, signed by Financial Commissioner (ACS) Shailendra Kumar, IAS, supersedes all previous government orders on the matter, underscoring the importance of this nomination.
The Technical Co-ordination Committee for the Northern Region is a crucial body that facilitates inter-state coordination on power transmission, grid security, and overall power system management. In his new role as Chairperson, Mr. Arora will be instrumental in overseeing and coordinating technical power issues for the northern states, ensuring seamless and reliable power supply and infrastructure development.
