J&K Government Orders Transfers in Law Department, 4 Officers Shifted with Immediate Effect

Srinagar, Feb 10: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered the transfer and posting of four officers in the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs with immediate effect.

According to Government Order No. 1796-JK(LD) of 2026 dated February 10, 2026, issued by the Civil Secretariat, the reshuffle has been carried out in the interest of administration to streamline functioning across departments.

Officers Transferred in J&K Law Department

As per the official order, the following transfers have been made:

1. Dharampal Chibber Transferred

Mr. Dharampal Chibber, Additional Secretary to Government, who was posted in the Office of Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti, Jammu, has been transferred and posted in the Directorate of Industries and Commerce, Jammu.

2. Ms. Romana Posted to Tourism Department

Ms. Romana, Senior Law Officer, presently posted in the Public Works (R&B) Department and holding additional charge of litigation work of the Tourism Department, has been transferred and posted in the Tourism Department on a full-time basis.

3. Shakeel Ahmed Shifted to Health Services

Mr. Shakeel Ahmed, Assistant Legal Remembrancer, who was serving at Government Medical College, Jammu and holding additional charge of litigation work of Government Dental College, Jammu, has been transferred and posted in the Directorate of Health Services, Jammu.

However, he will continue to hold the litigation work of Government Medical College and Government Dental College, Jammu till further orders.

4. Mohd. Irfan Khan Posted to Jal Shakti

Mr. Mohd. Irfan Khan, Assistant Legal Remembrancer, who was posted in the Directorate of Industries and Commerce, Jammu and holding additional charge of litigation work of Financial Commissioner, Revenue, Jammu, has been transferred and posted in the Office of Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti, Jammu.

He will continue to handle the additional litigation charge of Financial Commissioner, Revenue, Jammu until further instructions.

Officers Deemed Relieved

The order further states that the officers concerned shall be deemed to have been relieved from their previous postings from the date of issuance of the order.

The reshuffle is aimed at strengthening legal and administrative coordination across key departments in Jammu and Kashmir.
