J&K School Education Department Fixes Seniority of Retired Lecturer Sarita Raina at No. 299-A
SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department has proposed fixation of the seniority of Smt. Sarita Raina, Retired Lecturer (Zoology), at Seniority No. 299-A in the combined updated/final seniority list of 10+2 Lecturers.
According to a notice issued by the School Education Department, Raina had approached the department seeking determination and fixation of her seniority in the list of 10+2 Lecturers issued vide Government Order No. 1073-Edu of 2013 dated December 30, 2013, along with her consequential claim for placement as Senior Lecturer.

The department said that after examining the relevant records, it was found that Raina’s counterparts, both senior and junior, had been included in the final seniority list, while her name had not figured in the list.
Upon consideration of the records, the department found that she was entitled to be assigned Seniority No. 299-A in the combined updated/final seniority list.
As per the notice, Raina is to be placed at Seniority No. 299-A, between her senior counterpart Mehraj-Ul-Din Mir, holding Seniority No. 299, and her junior counterpart Maharaj Krishen Bhan, holding Seniority No. 300.
The department has invited objections, if any, from concerned members of the cadre who may be affected by the proposed assignment of seniority. Objections are required to be submitted within 15 days from the date of publication of the notice in print media.
The notice further states that if no objection is received within the stipulated period, it will be presumed that no member of the cadre has any objection and necessary orders will be issued accordingly.
The notice was issued by Ram Niwas Sharma, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, School Education Department, and is dated September 10, 2026.
