J&K Schools to Continue Offline Classes, Confirms Education Minister

J&K Schools to Continue Offline Classes, Confirms Education Minister: SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Thursday said the government is not considering any immediate move to shift educational institutions to online mode, clarifying that physical classes across the Union Territory will continue as usual for now.

Speaking to reporters, the Minister dismissed speculation over the possible introduction of virtual classes in the wake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent appeal for austerity measures and work-from-home practices linked to fuel conservation concerns.

“There is nothing like that at present. Let us see,” Sakina Itoo said when asked whether the administration was planning to introduce online classes in schools and colleges.

Her remarks come amid growing discussions over possible administrative measures following calls for fuel-saving initiatives and austerity steps.

The Minister, however, made it clear that no proposal regarding suspension of physical classes or transition to virtual learning was currently under consideration by the Education Department.(KASHMIR LIFE)
