SRINAGAR, October 15, 2025 – MA Road Women’s College:In a landmark announcement during the 75th anniversary celebrations of the Government College for Women, MA Road Srinagar, Education Minister Sakina Itoo unveiled plans for a state-of-the-art 1000-seater auditorium at the historic institution.
Speaking at the event, Minister Itoo said, “It gives me immense pleasure to witness one of Srinagar’s finest colleges thrive. While the college has always stood out architecturally, the existing auditorium is quite small. To support growing academic and cultural events, we plan to construct a modern auditorium that can accommodate at least 1000 students and guests.”
The Minister added that she would coordinate closely with the college principal and the Additional Chief Secretary to identify available space and ensure that the auditorium is equipped with the latest facilities. “This auditorium will provide students with a platform for cultural programs, seminars, and college activities, fostering holistic development,” she noted.
The announcement was warmly received by faculty and students, who expressed optimism that the project would significantly enhance the learning and cultural environment at the MA Road Women’s College. The new auditorium is expected to become a central hub for college events, further cementing the institution’s reputation as a premier center for women’s education in the region.
