Pedestrian Injured in Srinagar’s Sanat Nagar Hit-and-Run Accident

Srinagar, Oct 15 (KNT): A pedestrian was injured on Tuesday after being hit by an unidentified vehicle in Sanat Nagar, one of the busiest localities in Srinagar, officials said.

The injured person has been identified as Sushil Pal, son of Reshi Pal, a resident of Uttarakhand. After the accident, he was immediately taken to JVC Hospital Bemina, where doctors confirmed that his condition is stable.

Police have filed a case at Police Station Sadar and initiated an investigation. “We are making every effort to identify the vehicle involved and trace the driver responsible,” a police official told Kashmir News Trust (KNT).

Authorities said teams from the Traffic Police Department are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to determine the sequence of events and locate the vehicle.

Local residents expressed concern over the increasing number of hit-and-run cases in Srinagar, particularly in high-traffic zones like Sanat Nagar, Hyderpora, and Lal Chowk. Many urged the administration to strengthen road safety measures and enhance camera surveillance across the city to prevent similar accidents.
