SSP Udhampur Amod Nagpure Gets Additional Charge of DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range
Jammu, Oct 31: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered the assignment of additional charge of DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range to IPS Officer Amod Nagpure, who is presently serving as SSP Udhampur. The order was issued by the Home Department under Government Order No. 520-Home of 2025, dated October 30, 2025.
According to the official notification, the decision has been taken in the interest of administration to ensure smooth functioning during the leave period of Ms. Sarah Rizvi, IPS, who currently holds the post of DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range.
The order reads, “In the interest of administration, it is hereby ordered that Mr. Amod Nagpure, IPS, SSP Udhampur, shall, in addition to his own duties, look after the assignments of DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range during the leave period of Ms. Sarah Rizvi, IPS.”
The formal order was issued with the approval of the Lieutenant Governor and signed by Chandrakant Bharti, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government, Home Department.
Administrative Importance
This temporary arrangement ensures continuity in policing and administrative operations across the Udhampur-Reasi range — a region that holds strategic importance due to its vast area, key transit routes, and proximity to sensitive zones. Amod Nagpure, an experienced IPS officer, is known for his efficient handling of law-and-order situations and proactive policing approach.
The additional charge highlights the trust reposed in Nagpure’s administrative capabilities by the J&K Government, as he will now be managing dual responsibilities — overseeing both district-level operations in Udhampur and range-level coordination in Udhampur-Reasi.
