SRINAGAR: A woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her residence in Marhama Bijbehara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said.

Officials said that the deceased has been identified as Sheeraza Bano, wife of Abdul Hameed Kumar, a resident of Baliyara, Marhama. She was around 37 years old and a homemaker by profession.

Following the incident, police from Sangam station reached the spot and took custody of the body for medico-legal formalities. The body was later shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause of death, they said.
Meanwhile, police have initiated proceedings in the matter and further investigation is underway. (KNC)
