Classwork Suspended in 60 Kashmir Schools on June 20 Ahead of NEET-2026 Re-Test

Srinagar, June 19: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has ordered the suspension of classwork in 60 schools across the Kashmir Valley on June 20, 2026 (Saturday) to facilitate preparations for the NEET-2026 Re-Test scheduled to be held on June 21.

According to an official order issued by DSEK, all educational institutions designated as NEET examination centres will remain closed for regular classes to ensure smooth arrangements and conduct of the examination.

The affected schools are spread across several districts including Anantnag, Baramulla, Budgam, Kupwara, Pulwama, and Srinagar. These institutions have been designated as examination centres for the upcoming national-level medical entrance examination.

The Directorate stated that the temporary suspension of academic activities is necessary to allow authorities to complete logistical and administrative preparations ahead of the examination.

DSEK has also cautioned that any violation of the order by the concerned institutions will attract strict action under the relevant rules and regulations.

The order was issued with the approval of the competent authority and will remain applicable only for June 20, while the examination is scheduled for June 21.

Students, parents, and school authorities are advised to take note of the order and make necessary arrangements accordingly.
