Jammu & Kashmir Cancels Over 50 Driving Licences for Rash Driving

Authorities in Jammu & Kashmir have cancelled more than 50 driving licences following repeated instances of rash and dangerous driving across the Union Territory, according to Kashmir Life.
The move comes as part of an ongoing enforcement drive by the regional transport authorities to promote road safety and curb reckless driving. Transport Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan urged motorists to drive responsibly and adhere to traffic rules.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Mahajan stated:
“Please drive carefully on roads. We shall continue with this drive.”
Officials confirmed that the RTO Jammu and ARTO Kishtwar have already cancelled over 50 licences of careless and rash drivers in the last two days. The Transport Commissioner also emphasized that such enforcement actions will continue periodically to ensure safer roads across the Union Territory.
The campaign aims to deter reckless driving and create awareness among motorists about the importance of following traffic norms. Authorities have warned that drivers caught violating rules in the future could face stricter penalties, including licence suspension or cancellation.
