J&K Govt Orders Transfers, Assigns Additional Charges in Law Department
Srinagar, March 30: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has issued a fresh order regarding transfers and additional charge assignments in the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
According to Government Order No. 4031-JK(LD) of 2026, several अधिकारियों have been given new responsibilities in the interest of administration.
Key Highlights of the Order:
• Ms. Ambica Bali, Assistant Legal Remembrancer, will handle the litigation work of Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (M) in addition to her duties until Ms. Komal Pandita resumes work after maternity leave.
• Mr. Vikram Gupta, Assistant Legal Remembrancer, has been assigned additional responsibility to oversee litigation work of Chief Engineer, Mechanical and Hospital Engineering Department, Jammu.
• Mr. Mehraj Gul, Associate Law Officer, has been transferred from the Labour and Employment Department and posted in the Directorate of Litigation, Kashmir.
• Mr. Ishfaq Hameed Thooker, Junior Assistant, has been shifted from Directorate of Litigation, Kashmir to District Litigation Office, Kulgam.
• Mr. Umer Mehraj Jan, Junior Assistant, has been transferred to District Litigation Office, Bandipora.
• Mr. Marib Muzaffar, MTS, has been moved from Urdu Coordination Cell, Srinagar to Directorate of Litigation, Kashmir.
Officials listed from serial number 3 to 6 are considered relieved from their previous postings with immediate effect.
The order has been issued by Commissioner/Secretary Achal Sethi.

These administrative changes are aimed at strengthening the functioning of the law department and ensuring smooth handling of litigation work across Jammu and Kashmir.
