JKBOSE Announces Class 10th–12th Exam Schedule for Kashmir and Winter Zones

Srinagar, Oct 24: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has officially released the annual examination schedule for Classes 10th, 11th, and 12th in the Kashmir Valley and winter zone areas of Jammu division, with exams set to begin in the first week of November 2025. The Board has also granted a 15% relaxation in the syllabus for students this session, offering relief to those who faced academic disruptions.

Exam Dates Announced for All Three Classes

According to officials, Class 10 exams will commence from November 3, Class 12 from November 8, and Class 11 from November 19, 2025.
The date sheets for all three classes have already been issued by the Board and are available on the official JKBOSE website.

The Secretary of JKBOSE confirmed that this year’s exams will involve a large number of students across Kashmir and winter zone districts:

  • Class 10: Around 95,000 students
  • Class 11: Around 82,000 students
  • Class 12: Around 70,000 students

He emphasized that necessary arrangements have been finalized to ensure smooth and transparent conduct of the examinations.

15% Syllabus Relaxation for Students

The Board has approved a 15% relaxation in the syllabus for all students appearing in Classes 10, 11, and 12.
According to the Secretary, the decision was taken after receiving multiple representations from parents, teachers, and student organizations, followed by a detailed review by a committee led by the JKBOSE Chairman.

“The relaxation decision was made to provide relief to students who experienced academic disruptions during the year,” the Secretary stated.

Free Textbooks Distribution for Lower Classes

In addition to exam preparations, JKBOSE has announced that free textbooks for all students up to Class 8 will be distributed soon in the Kashmir Valley and winter zone regions of Jammu.

  • Students in Kashmir and winter zones will receive textbooks by the end of November.
  • Students in the summer zones of Jammu will get them by the first week of December.

This initiative aims to ensure that all students have access to essential learning materials before the start of the new academic term.

Arrangements for Smooth Conduct of Exams

To ensure fair and secure exams, the JKBOSE has made arrangements for safe storage of confidential exam materials in local police stations and coordination with district administrations.
The Board also appealed to schools and staff to extend full cooperation during the examination period.
