The students contend that the programme lacks recognition from the Rajasthan Nursing Council (RNC) and the Indian Nursing Council (INC), approvals which are essential for the validity of nursing qualifications, professional registration and future employment.
They stated that over 50 Kashmiri students are currently enrolled in the course and that the lack of statutory recognition has jeopardised their academic prospects. According to them, the university administration had earlier assured that the necessary approvals would be obtained, and the Registrar had reportedly issued a written assurance last year indicating that the matter would be resolved soon.
The students allege that no concrete progress has been made and that no definite timeline has been provided. Citing continued uncertainty, they organised a protest demanding clarity and prompt action from the university authorities.
Subsequently, 33 students were suspended, prompting concern among their families in Jammu and Kashmir. The students argue that voicing legitimate academic concerns should not result in disciplinary measures and maintain that securing regulatory compliance rests with the institution.
They have sought immediate intervention to address the approval issue and protect their academic and professional future.
