Srinagar Road Accidents: Eight Injured in Three Overnight Mishaps: SRINAGAR: Eight people were injured, several of them critically, in three separate road accidents reported overnight in Srinagar and adjoining areas, officials said on Saturday.

In the first incident, two persons sustained injuries in a road accident at Dumail Crossing in the Narbal area during the night. Both were taken to JVC Hospital Bemina for treatment.

They have been identified as Mudasir Ahmad Sheikh, son of Mohd Ayoub Sheikh, and Muzammil Ahmad Dar, son of Shabir Ahmad Dar, both residents of Zanikote, Srinagar.

Hospital sources said Mudasir Ahmad Sheikh, 26, suffered severe head injuries and is in a critical condition. Muzammil Ahmad Dar, 23, sustained fractures in both legs along with head injuries and is also stated to be critical.

In a second incident, two persons were injured when the driver of an Alto vehicle reportedly lost control near Astan Sharief Kirmani Abad, close to a petrol pump. Officials said both injured were shifted to JVC Hospital Bemina in critical condition. The vehicle involved bears registration number JK01M-9757.

In a third accident, three injured persons were shifted by police from Police Station Harwan to SKIMS Soura after being referred from PHC Dargah. Police said the trio were riding a scooty when they were hit by an unidentified vehicle near Shalimar, causing multiple injuries.

They have been identified as Hashim Rather, son of Ajaz Ahmad Rather; Shabir Ahmad Dar, son of Farooq Ahmad Dar; and Imraan Ahmad Lone, son of Nazir Ahmad Lone, all residents of Brein Nishat.

Hospital officials said Hashim Rather, 20, is stable, Shabir Ahmad Dar, 32, is also stable, while Imraan Ahmad Lone, 24, remains in a critical condition.

Police have taken cognisance of the incidents and investigations are underway. (KNT)
