Centre Approves ₹292 Crore for 36 PMGSY Road Projects in Baramulla: AIP

Srinagar, Oct 21 (Times of Kashmir): The Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) has welcomed the Union Government’s approval of 36 new road projects worth ₹292.33 crore for the Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY-IV Batch-I, 2025–26).

According to AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi, Union Minister for Rural Development and Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan conveyed the sanction in a letter addressed to the incarcerated Member of Parliament from Baramulla, Engineer Abdul Rashid (Er. Rashid). The approved projects will cover 136.69 kilometres of road network, connecting 41 habitations across the constituency.

Inam described the development as “a reflection of Engineer Rashid’s vision for equitable rural growth” and said his “commitment to people’s welfare continues to inspire progress in North Kashmir despite his incarceration.”

He expressed gratitude to the Union Minister for the approval and said the projects will play a crucial role in boosting rural connectivity, strengthening local economies, and improving access to essential services. “These projects will transform rural mobility and benefit thousands of residents across North Kashmir,” he said.

Inam Un Nabi also urged the Jammu and Kashmir administration to ensure timely and transparent implementation of the sanctioned works so that their benefits reach the people without delay.
